Coffee traditions in different countries

Posted by on 06 Jan 2011 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

It is considered that the quantity of various coffee sorts, known to mankind, exceeds one thousand. But there are much more ways of its preparation and serving.

Flavoring qualities of a drink depend on many factors. There are not any trifles, everything is important: from a coffee sort choice to bean’s frying and grinding degree.

For example, Americans, who worry about their health to fanaticism, usually drink light coffee without caffeine. Temperamental Italians and, strangely enough, cool Swedes, on the contrary, prefer very dark, black as night, coffee. And diplomatic Frenchmen search for color and taste golden mean. Anyway, each country, each nation, and even each separate individual has his own firm recipe of coffee preparation and drinking. Continue Reading »

Coffee home

The real coffee home is Ethiopia. The plant with red fruits of which you can make the bitter invigorating drink for the first time was discovered exactly in the Ethiopian province Kahve. In the course of time this drink has won subsequently the whole world.

Spreading

From Ethiopia coffee has extended to the neighboring Yemen and then got to other trading ways. Camel’s caravans delivered coffee together with spices from East Africa to the countries of Middle East and Europe.

Triumphal way

The first mentions about coffee can be found in annals of 575 year. In the east coffee has been elevated to a cult, the quantity of coffee houses increased as quickly, as quantity of people who knew how to prepare this drink. Posted by on 27 Dec 2010 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Tanzanian Southern Peaberry

Coffee is on the first place in agricultural sphere of Tanzania. You can divide all coffee which is growing here into northern and southern sorts. The real “north” coffee which grows on Kilimanjaro Mountain, on border with Kenya, will amaze you with its flavoring qualities. It reminds Kenyan sorts, but has less acidity, and its basis is more gentle and light.

As to southern sorts which grow on mountains round Nyasa Lake on border with Malawi, they differ with the strongly pronounced taste, the lowered acidity and long aftertaste.

Coffee “Tanzanian Peaberry” is grown up in the Song city, Ruvuma area. It possesses strongly pronounced, but balanced flavoring qualities. It is a sated coffee, with difficult apricot, brandy and almond oil aroma. In process of cooling coffee develops a taste of sweet jasmine. But “Tanzanian Peaberry” coffee sort also has one problem which, probably, has nothing common with the country of growth or with original coffee taste. Continue Reading »

Delonghi KG 39 coffee maker review

Posted by on 25 Dec 2010 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Taken out a stylish box, reminding a sand-glass in form coffee grinder Delonghi KG 39 at once has made an impression. The black glossy qualitative plastic, rubberized for convenience of the device keeping sides and details of a coffee grinder, densely adjusted to each other, have advantageously differed Delonghi KG 39 from other representatives of its class. In respect of design Italians as always raised to the occasion.

Average sizes (13×13 × 21 cm) and weight (0,78 kg) coffee grinder is controlled with the help of the start-up button located in the top lateral part of the case. During coffee crunching it is necessary to hold the device in hands (one hand for pressing on the button, and another for holding the case) that isn’t very convenient. It is much more convenient, if the start-up button is situated on a cover above - then, switching a coffee grinder on, we can press the device to a table by one hand, providing the stability, so the second hand remains free.

Why the manufacturer has supplied Delonghi KG 39 with rubberized legs, remains for us as a riddle. During all the work there is no necessity to put the device on a table; it is more conveniently to hold a coffee grinder in hands. As this detail has proved to be enough useless, we can make a statement that it is a design element. Continue Reading »
